Cairo - MENA
Advisor to Egypt's Grand Mufti Ibrahim Nejm has said the Iftaa House had issued a report to refute the allegations of the terrorist groups that use the Holy Quran to mislead young and ill-informed people and make them commit crimes in the name of Islam.
He said that Islam did not tolerate the killing of innocents.
"Islam has never condoned the killing of innocent people," Nejm stated.
He said that such terrorists have badly misinterpreted the Holy Quran's war verses, adding that they harmed the religion of Islam.
"Jihad is not about killing people for the sake of killing," he said.
Nejm explained that the true Jihad, according to Islam, is fighting the enemies of the countries, not killing innocent people nor kidnapping women and children and spreading fear and terror everywhere.
"They made killing people their main goal in life and attributed this to Islam, which is totally untrue," he added.
