Gaza City - MENA
Israeli authorities on Sunday ordered the closure of the Karam Abu Salem border crossing, south east of the Gaza Strip, as off Thursday.
The move was taken in preparation for the upcoming Purim holiday beginning at midnight on Wednesday.
Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire where a plot had been formed to destroy them.
Karam Abu Salem is the only commercial crossing through which the Israeli authorities allow the entry of commodities to Gaza.
