The Israeli forces detained on Saturday member of Fatah Central Committee Abbas Zaki at a checkpoint in northern Bethlehem and seized his personal ID.
The arrest of Zaki is a dangerous escalation that aims at exercising pressure on the Palestinian leadership, said Fatah spokesman Ahmad Assaf.
The Palestinian leadership is determined to end the Israeli occupation via the United Nations Security Council and joining the International Criminal Court, Assaf underlined.
