Israeli forces stormed on Sunday one of the al Aqsa Mosque's yards and fired sound bombs at worshipers.

Earlier, hundreds of worshipers stayed inside to foil settlers' expected storming of the holy mosque ahead of celebrating the Sukkot Jewish holiday (The Jewish Throne Day) on Monday.

Israeli forces withdrew from the mosque an hour after storming it, sources said.

In a press release, the Israeli forces said the storming of the mosque came after stones and firecrackers were thrown on soldiers stationed at Al Magharba Gate.
