Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier congratulated Fayez Seraj on his new post as the head of the Presidency Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord.

In two separate phone calls on Saturday, they discussed means of supporting the new Libyan national unity government, the Presidency Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord said in a press release.

Seraj hailed Italy and Germany’s stance towards the Libyan issue.

He also welcomed their unconditioned support to the new government in order to restore stability and end Libyans’ suffering and rescue the Arab state from terrorism.
