Meeting

A joint government-parliament meeting was held today at the Representatives Council.
The six core priorities of the Government Action Plan (GAP) (2015-2018), and the executive initiatives and procedures of each were reviewed.
First Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Parliament Committee in Charge of examining the GAP MP Ali Al Aradi welcomed the fruitful and effective cooperation between the Representatives Council and the government.
He lauded His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa's directives to ministers to cooperate with the Parliament, in light of the reform project and democratic march spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Follow-up Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa expressed the readiness of the government team to present GAP in details to MPs, valuing highly the initiative to hold a joint meeting, which, he said, reflects sincere desire to enhance positive and fruitful cooperation between the two branches.
He affirmed HRH Premier's directives to consolidate executive-legislature cooperation, stressing that every success in this regard should be attributed to the kingdom and its reform project.
He added that leadership's directives stress that all projects and initiatives should benefit the nation and ensure decent living for the citizens.
MP Ali Al Aradi said that the government team staged a detailed presentation of GAP, and answered MPs' questions on the policies, initiatives, procedures, implementation mechanisms and allocated budget of each core priority.
He praised the government's representatives' positive response, transparency and outstanding cooperation during the meeting.
