Baghdad - MENA
Joint Iraqi forces made an advancement towards Ramadi city of Anbar province from several axes to drive Daesh militants out, Media Adviser to Iraqi Defense Ministry Naseer Nori said on Tuesday.
In a statement, Nasser asserted that the military operation launched by joint Iraqi forces on Ramadi city will achieve positive results.
For his part, Spokesman for the Iraqi Interior Ministry Saad Maan said that the Iraqi forces were well prepared for staging an attack on Daesh fighters in Ramadi city and also in northern Tikrit city of Salahuddin province.
The Iraqi troops have made significant gains after liberating many districts in Baiji city from Daesh militants, he added.
Many Daesh fighters were killed during clashes with the Iraqi forces in and around the Baiji refinery, he asserted.
The Iraqi forces were qualified to deal with Daesh tactics represented in using snipers, improvised explosive devices, suicide bombers and booby-trapped cars, he underlined.
