Cairo - MENA
All Arab countries support the legitimate Libyan government in the face of current challenges, especially terrorism, Ambassador Bisher Khasawneh, Jordan's Representative to the Arab League, said.
At a joint news conference with Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Al Dairi, Khasawneh said the Libyan minister reviewed in detail the challenges faced by the Libyan government and parliament.
The conference was held Tuesday following the end of the emergency Arab League meeting on Libya.
Arab countries were called to fulfill their commitments with regard to the UN Security Council resolutions on Libya, Khasawneh said.
He also highlighted the necessity of developing an Arab military strategy in support of Libya in the face of terrorism.
The Arab joint defense council will meet next week to discuss the steps regarding the establishment of a joint Arab force, Khasawneh noted.
Fighting continues in Libya where two rival governments and parliaments, together with an assortment of Islamists, tribesmen and armed groups, are battling for control of cities and regions, four years after the fall of leader Muammar Gaddafi.
