Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Daoud stressed the importance of unifying efforts of the Arab and Islamic states to fight terrorism which, he said, tarnished the image of Islam worldwide.
During a meeting with secretary of the conference of awqaf ministers of Islamic states Zaid al-Dokan, he said Jordan had devised a plan aimed at highlighting the moderation and tolerance of Islam.
He expressed keenness of stymieing the bloodshed, hailing his ministry's role in protecting Islamic sanctuaries in Al Quds city.
For his part, Dokan praised Jordan's role in disseminating the upright teachings of Islam.
