Jordanian King Abdullah II on Sunday received President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar Al-Hakim, Petra news agency reported.
During a meeting at al Husseinyieh Palace that tackled Jordanian-Iraqi relations and ways of strengthening them, the King reiterated Jordan's full support for the Iraqi people in the fight against terrorism and terrorist organizations.
He said that Jordan supports efforts to build a better present and future of Iraq, and enable it to consolidate its national unity with the participation of all segments of the Iraqi people.
The meeting also reviewed the current developments in the Middle East.
Al-Hakim expressed his appreciation for the King's supportive stances towards Iraq and its people, and his efforts to strengthen security and stability in the Middle East.
