Jordan receives Syrian refugees

Jordan's border guards received during the last 24 hours 160 Syrian refugees of different ages, the Morale Guidance Directorate affiliated with the Jordanian Armed Forces said on Tuesday.

The border guards provided the refugees with temporary shelters set up for them and with the necessary humanitarian aid, said a statement by the directorate.

Jordan is one of the highest neighboring countries to receive Syrian refugees since the outbreak of the crisis in the Arab country.

Jordan is giving shelter to more than 700,000 Syrians who have fled four years of conflict in their country, and the number grows every day.

Syria has witnessed mass protests that turned into military confrontations against the regime of President Bashar Al Assad, with scores of thousands of people fleeing to nearby countries.
