Jordanian border guards

Jordanian border guards have killed an infiltrator who tried to cross the borders from Syria to Jordan on Tuesday, according to an official source with the Jordanian armed forces.

In a press statement, the source said that at 5:30 am on Tuesday, Jordanian border guards spotted a person trying to cross the border to Jordan. The rapid response force applied the rules of engagement, killing the infiltrator.

Since the beginning of the Syrian revolution in March 2011, the 378km long border between Jordan and Syria has been subjected to continuous infiltration attempts by smugglers or members of extremist groups.

Jordanian border guards monitor the borders using advanced technology acquired in 2013, with surveillance cameras installed along the borders to easily detect movement and deal with it.
