The Jordanian Cabinet on Monday under Prime Minister Abdullah Enasour approved constitutional amendments and submitted them to Lower House with "a status of urgency".
The amendments included adding a new paragraph to Article 40 of the Constitution whereby the King has the authority to appoint the crown prince, the viceroy, members and head of the House of Lords, members and chief of the constitutional court, head of the army and intelligence agency.
Other amendments included setting conditions in the case of resignation and sacking of the premier and his cabinet.
