Iraq's PM Haider al-Abadi

Prime Minister Abdullah Enosur held talks in Baghdad with his Iraqi counterpart Hayder El Abadi on bilateral ties, the security challenges facing Iraq as well as ways to boost coordination to confront terrorist organizations.
At the meeting, which was attended by top officials form both sides, Ensour stressed Jordan’s support to reforms measures taken by Iraq as well as to its efforts to fight terrorist organizations that target the country.
He said Jordan’s relations with Iraq were not ever linked to specific regimes, noting that the Kingdom does not interfere in Iraq’s internal affairs.
The prime minister stressed Jordan’s support to Iraq to overcome the current difficult conditions facing it, adding that the success of Iraq is the success of the Arab nation.
The Iraqi prime minister for his part praised Jordan’s supportive stance to Iraq, mainly in its efforts to fight terrorist organizations.
He also highlighted the historical ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed ways to boost cooperation and coordination in the political field, mainly on issues of common interest.
On Syria, the Jordanians side stressed the need to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the country.
The two sides also reviewed ways to boost trade and economic cooperation between the two countries as the freed trade agreement between the two countries entered into force in March last year.
On Agriculture, the two sides discussed means to increase agricultural cooperation in line with the agricultural calendar agreed upon between the two sides.
Talks during the meeting also covered ways to boost cooperation between the two neighboring countries in the media, energy, public works and transport fields.
