Jordanian King Abdullah II

Jordanian King Abdullah II highlighted the need to intensify efforts to achieve peace, security and stability in the Middle East.
On Monday, the king received Kazakh Senate president Kasim Zhomart Tokaev, who delivered an invitation to Abdullah II from President Nursultan Nazarbayev to attend the Fifth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, scheduled to be held in Astana in June.
During the meeting, the King stressed Jordan's keenness on strengthening its friendship and cooperation with Kazakhstan in various fields.
He also reiterated Jordan's stance, which calls for addressing terrorism and terrorist organizations and their threats with a holistic approach.
The King also affirmed the need to clarify the true image of Islam and its tolerance and noted the role of religious conferences in highlighting Islam's moderation.
The Kazakh official conveyed the Kazakh president's keenness on boosting relations with Jordan in the interest of both peoples and countries.
He also praised Jordan's pivotal role under the King's leadership in addressing the region's issues.
