Jordan's King Abdullah II

Jordan's King Abdullah II on Monday affirmed Jordan's full support to efforts aimed at achieving security and stability for the Middle East and fighting terrorism that poses a threat to the region and the world, Petra News Agency reported.
The king, who received Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Jose Manuel Garcia, stressed Jordan's keenness to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with Spain, mainly in the economic, trade and renewable energy fields, in the interest of both countries.
Talks during the meeting also dealt with regional issues of common interest.
Regarding Middle East peace efforts, the king reiterated that all international forces that wield influence should work to create proper conditions to revive the peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.
On the situation in Syria and Iraq, King Abdullah stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive political solution to the crisis in Syria and support the efforts of the Iraqi government to counter terrorist organizations.
