Jordanian King Abdullah II

Jordanian King Abdullah II on Sunday called on key players, including France, to double their efforts to create the proper conditions to resume the Middle East peace talks based on the two-state solution, according to a statement released by the Jordanian Royal Court.

He made the remarks during a meeting with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius who visited Jordan as part of his tour to the region, the statement said.

The meeting touched on the latest developments in the region, including the exerted efforts to combat terrorism, the statement added.

During the gathering, the Jordanian King hailed cooperation ties binding Jordan and France, asserting that Jordan is keen on fostering relations with France in different areas.

For his part, the French foreign minister expressed his country's willingness to strengthen ties with Jordan and coordinate efforts on various issues.
