Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Saturday, discussed with Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region, especially the crisis in Syria. They stressed the importance of tomorrow's meeting which will bring together the foreign ministers of the neighboring countries of Syria in the Zaatari camp for Syrian refugees with the participation of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres. They called for reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria with the participation of all components of the Syrian people and said the international community has a responsibility to help and support neighboring countries that receive hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees. Meanwhile, Judeh met with Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs Rashid Derbas and discussed with him the Syrian crisis and its impact on neighboring countries, stressing the importance of helping and supporting these countries to cope with the influx of Syrian refugees. The foreign minister also met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres and discussed with him the latest developments in Syria and their humanitarian repercussions on the countries in the region and Jordan in particular. The two sides tackled the massive and growing flow of the Syrian refugees to Jordan and the major burdens they place on the Kingdom's limited resources. The foreign minister stressed keenness to continue coordination and cooperation with the UN institutions and bodies working in the humanitarian and refugees fields. Guterres called on the international community to offer further support to Jordan to continue helping the Syrian refugees.
