Giza Criminal Court has sentenced an editor advisor at Sout Al Omma newspaper to two years in prison for insulting Justice Minister Ahmed el Zend.
Mohamed Saad Khattab has been convicted of publishing material that constituted insult to Zend, who was then the chairman of the Judges' Club.
The court also Tuesday fined the newspaper's editor-in-chief, Abdel Halim Qandil, 20,000 pounds over the same libel charges.
