London - KUNA
The crew of the around-the-world marine excursion, which is dedicated to the disabled, who started in Kuwait were invited to an Iftar banquet hosted by Kuwait's Ambassador Khaled Al-Dowaisaan at their arrival in the United Kingdom.
In a speech at the event, the ambassador hailed the humanitarian message being portrayed by the Journey of Hope, which organisers, including disabled members, say is dedicated to people of mental disabilities.
Attending guests and embassy staff were briefed by the crew members on the happenings of the trip, which started in Kuwait on May 1 and made numerous stops at ports in the Arab region and Europe.
For his part, chief crew member Badi Al-Dosari praised the role of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in supporting the initiative.
He also expressed delight and gratitude over the great welcoming parties he and his crewmates had witnessed at the stops they made during the close to three-month journey.
The journey aims to reveal Kuwait's unique and leading role in the field of efforts dedicated to people with special needs, he added.
