Jordan's King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, praised efforts exerted by the Jordanian army to support the Syrian refugees.
The remarks were made during a visit paid by King Abdullah II to a border guards unit on the Jordanian northern frontiers, said a statement by General Command of the Jordanian armed forces.
The King was received by his Advisor for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mashal Mohammad Al Zabin.
King Abdullah congratulated the troops on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), there are nearly 630,000 Syrian refugees registered in Jordan. There are many more not registered, living in Jordanian communities.
