Kuwait on Monday agreed to 19 resolutions adopted by the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) during its 7th session in eastern Lahore city of Pakistan.
Member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Parliament), Faisal Muhammad Alkandari, who is leading the Kuwait delegation at the APA session, told KUNA that the conferees adopted 19 resolutions after discussions.
They include measures and methods of materialization of principles of friendship and cooperation in Asia, engaging APA with Asian governments and intergovernmental organizations, integrated energy market in Asia, financial affairs for the countries of APA member parliaments, alleviating poverty in Asia and coping with globalization in Asia.
Other resolutions address promoting cultural diversity and protecting cultural heritage in Asia, APA financial and staff regulation, collaboration on health equity in Asia, information and communication technology, protection and promotion of the rights of migrant workers in Asia, Asian parliamentarians against corruption, coordinating meeting of APA women parliamentarians, promoting inter faith dialogue and harmony among world religions, legal and legislative cooperation in combating the smuggling of cultural items in Asia, effective cooperation in combating illicit drug trafficking in Asia, denunciation of terrorism and violent extremism, important political developments in Asia, environmental issues, global warming, climate change, and planting billions of trees throughout Asia were also adapted during the session.
