National Assembly Deputy Speaker Mubarak Al Khurainej welcomed Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Al Tayeb, who is currently visiting the country to participate in its celebration after being named the capital of Islamic culture for 2016.

Tayeb will be honored during the celebration, the deputy speaker said.

Hailing Tayeb's visit, al Khurainej called the grand imam a respectful moderate Muslim figure who promotes moderation and coexistence across the world.
