The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry on Tuesday recalled its ambassador to Iran against a backdrop of the recent attack carried out by a number of protesters on the Saudi embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad.

Saudi Arabia broke off its diplomatic ties with Iran after some angry protesters had stormed the premises of the Saudi embassy in Tehran following the execution of Saudi Shiite cleric Sheikh Nimr al Nimr.
