Kuwait City - Arab Today
Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah welcomed Thursday the Saudi Arabia's call to hold an urgent meeting for the foreign ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the blatant and repeated Israeli aggressions against Al Aqsa Mosque.
Sheikh Sabah, who chaired the current session of the OIC's council of the foreign ministers, praised the efforts exerted by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and contacts he conducted with other leaders to make an end to the Israeli violations.
The Kuwaiti emir said he contacted with OIC secretary general Iyad Madani and Arab League chief Nabil el Arabi to discuss holding the urgent meeting as soon as possible.
The meeting is expected to tackle the Israeli escalations and repeated attacks against the Muslim holy sites and al Aqsa Mosque.
He urged the international community to assume its humanitarian and ethical responsibilities to stop the barbaric Israeli actions against the Islamic sanctities, which violated the international laws and destroyed the peace process.
