Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Tuesday left for Algeria to attend the 32nd session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, March 10-14.
The Arab scene is going through a critical and sensitive stage, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled said in pre-departure remarks to KUNA, citing implications of terrorism on the region.
He stressed the need for collective action on the international level, as well as intensifying Arab security cooperation to counter developments through a unified view.
Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled referred to a host of topics on the agenda of the ministerial meeting, bolstering security cooperation among the Arab Interior Ministries, traffic safety, civil defense and countering organized crime, besides intellectual security and other issues.
A preparatory meeting was held in Algiers on March 6-9, with General Director of the Interior Ministry Legal Affairs Department Maj. Gen. Asaad Al Ruwayeh having led the Kuwaiti delegation.
