The National Assembly's legal and legislative affairs committee refused, on Sunday, requests from the Public Prosecution to lift immunity from MPs Nabil Al-Fadhel and Dr. Abdul-Hamid Dashti.
The committee also rejected suggestions regarding the establishment of a center for Ramadan moon-sighting, a center for teachers' development and a committee that follows up on the progression of developmental projects in the country.
The committee's reason for this rejection was due to the fact that some institutions of similar functionality do exist and that there was no need for such redundancy.
