Kuwait's Ambassador to Tunisia Fahad Ahmad Al-Awadhi expressed admiration Monday for the role and campaign of "Journey of Hope" boat, which he described, conveys a humanitarian and social message on the disabled.
The ambassador made his remarks in a ceremony hosting Journey of Hope" members, adding that their tremendous work sheds light on the lives of mentally challenged people and the disabled.
The ceremony was attended by Kuwaiti and Tunisian officials from various institutions and organizations.
Al-Awadhi noted that the journey shows Kuwait's leadership and people keenness in caring for the disabled and ensuring their role in society.
The ambassador also expressed hope that the journey achieves its intended goals, including stops at 19 countries worldwide, and the delivery of its message.
Al-Awadhi thanked the Tunisian government for their hospitality and warm welcome of the boat, including easing all restrictions for the boat and its members.
Last night, the Kuwaiti boat arrived at the Tunisian Port of Yasmine Marina, in the city of Hammamet.
The boat was received at the port by Kuwait's Ambassador Fahad Ahmad Al-Awadhi, Consul Dakheel Khurainej, several other embassy officials, Head of Tunisian union for aid of mentally-disabled people (UTAIM) Hesham bin Nasser and Head of Port Yasmine Marina
