Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Arabi said Sunday that the violence acts in Gaza from shelling and ground operation launched by the Israeli army is a crime against Palestinian civilians.
Israel bears full responsibility for this crime that claimed the lives of dozens of innocent Palestinian civilians, Al-Arabi stressed in a statement.
El-Arabi called for an "immediate cessation" of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and provide protection for Palestinian civilians.
Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned the escalation in military operations in the Gaza Strip and confirmed Egypt's support of the Palestinian people at this critical stage, the ministry said in statement.
