The Lebanese army thwarted an attempt by some militants to sneak into its positions in Masyada and Wadi al Hosn on the outskirts of Arsal, along the Syrian border, according to security information circulated on Monday.

The militants were forced to retreat after fierce clashes with the Lebanese army. Some militants were injured in the face-off.
