Beirut - MENA
Two people were sentenced to life on Friday over taking part in attacks launched on the Lebanese army in the Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared in 2007.
The two defendants were found guilty over attacks by Al Qaeda-affiliated Fatah al-Islam on state’s internal security.
The court decided to change the death sentence to life imprisonment under article no. 253 of Lebanese Penal Code.
Lebanese reports said that about 170 soldiers and 64 civilians were killed in battle in May 2007.
