Lebanese Interior Minister Nehad al Mashnoq vowed that his ministry will strictly face an attempt to storm or organize sit-ins at state institutions in the framework of law.
In a press conference held on Wednesday, al Mashnoq said that the outcome of the investigations "concerning the overuse of violence" by the Lebanese security forces in August 22, resulted in referring two officers to disciplinary council and punishing six military personnel.
The minister admitted that the security forces shot fire in the air and fired rubber bullets, but he denied shooting protesters with live bullets.
He further stressed that civilians were not injured during the demonstrations.
