Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Rahi, left Lebanon on Sunday heading to the Vatican on a 10-day visit, during which he plans to participate in the Papal Council meetings, NNA reported.
Rahi and Pope Francis are scheduled to meet during the council gatherings.
The Patriarch will also attend a ceremony honoring former President Michel Sleiman. It has been reported that the Pope will bestow upon Sleiman a papal medal.
