Cairo airport police have arrested a Lebanese national who attempted to smuggle 46,000 euros and 15,000 US dollars out of the country.

He was arrested for violating laws on the movement of foreign currencies.

Under Egyptian law each passenger is allowed to have only 10,000 dollars or the equivalent to that sum in any other currency while traveling abroad.

Legal measures will be taken against the passengers.
