Beirut - Arab Today
The Lebanese Red Cross has confirmed the death of five people in four suicide bombings that rocked the district of al Qaa early Monday.
Secretary General of the Red Cross George Ketana told MENA this is the final toll, noting that 15 more people were injured in the blasts.
No Lebanese troops are among the dead, Ketana stressed.
The National News Agency said emerging details of what happened moments before the Qaa blasts indicate that at 4:00 am this morning the family of Talal Mokallad sensed strange movement in the surroundings which prompted young man Chady Mokallad to investigate the matter.
An exchange of fire took place with a terrorist who threw at him a hand grenade that made people rush to the shooting scene. When gathered there, the terrorist blew himself up causing casualties and starting a trail of blasts.
