The Libyan Air Force on the wee hours of Sunday started an operation against militants of Daesh terrorist group in the city of Derna.

In a statement, Libyan Air Force Chief-of-Staff Saqr Geroushi said that the operation was meant to avenge the murder of members of a Derna-based family in clashes with Daesh.

Dozens of Daesh militants were killed and injured in the operation, Geroushi said.
