Inter-Libyan Dialog resumes Monday in Morocco

The Morocco-hosted dialogue between rival Libyan factions will be resumed on Monday for two days, former General National Congress member Sharif Al-Wafi said on Friday.

The dialogue will be held under the auspices of Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Bernardino Leon.

Libya has two rival governments and parliaments, those recognized by the international community sitting in the far east of the country, while the others reside in the capital Tripoli.

Vying for legislative authority are a Tobruk-based parliament and an Islamist-led parliament, the latter of which – even though its mandate ended last year – continues to convene in Tripoli.
