A government employee survived an assassination bid on Friday in the Libyan city of Zlitan, a security source said.

He identified the employee as Sayeed Bo Dhaher who heads the Awqaf office in Zlitan.

Gunmen riding a vehicle opened fire at Bo Dhaher, the source said.
