The Libyan Interior Ministry on Monday mourned the head of the Benghazi port who was killed in clashes in the second-largest city.
"Colonel Abdullah Saaiti was killed in the line of duty," the ministry said in a statement.
Benghazi has been witnessing fierce clashes since May 2014.
The Benghazi fighting highlights the chaos in Libya, where armed groups back two governments vying for control.
