Counselor Ramzi Rumieh, a former adviser to the Libyan army, has urged Egypt's political leadership and the Egyptian state to stand by Libya as Cairo has always been a backbone for all Arab states.
In statements to MENA, Rumieh said that Egypt supported Libya in the formation of its army for the first time in 1941, and the second time was in 1953, noting that Egypt is still capable of extending help to the Libyan army at the present time.
He voiced confidence in the Egyptian army's belief and its combat potentials, noting that it is the only steadfast army that remains strong and politically neutral after the fall of Arab armies in Syria and Iraq.
Rumieh asserted that the military situation in Libya in stable, but Libya is in dire need of arms, logistic support and military aircraft in order to hunt down the terrorist groups in its territories.
He urged the UNSC to lift the arms ban on providing arms to Libya and help it defeat terrorism.
He called on all Libyans, including elements of the former regime and revolutionaries, to join the political dialogue excepting those terrorists who are involved in the killing of Libyan people or squandering their money from September 1969 and till the present time.
