Cairo - MENA
Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Dairi said on Sunday that the meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry comes as part of ongoing coordination among officials of both states.
In press statements following the meeting, al-Dairi thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for his support for the Libyan government and legitimate institutions during his European tour, which included stops in France, Italy and the Vatican.
"Egypt plays a vital role in the Arab region," al-Dairi said, adding that his country is keen on Egypt's security and stability due to the deeply-rooted relations between the two states.
He also thanked Shoukry for his efforts to solve the Libyan crisis.
"We are keen to post the Egyptian government on the real situation in Libya," al-Dairi said.
He also thanked Egypt for its efforts to solve the power problem, which hit Libya recently.
Shoukry, meanwhile, said Egypt moves in all directions to solve the Libyan crisis.
He added that Egypt will participate in a meeting Thursday to discuss ways of supporting legitimacy in Libya and securing the Libyan borders against terror acts.
