Tripoli - MENA
Libyan navy spokesman Ayoub Bilqassem called on fighting politicians to make concessions to end the current bloodshed and restore security and stability in Libya.
In an interview with MENA, Bilqassem shed light on the rising number of illegal migrants through the Libyan territorial waters to Europe.
The security situation in the country has helped illegal migration through the Libyan waters to rise, he said, urging Europe to take responsibility of illegal migrants as its laws have encouraged them to come over.
On the other side, hundreds of migrants drown in the middle of the ocean and do not reach the shore, he said.
The navy spokesman called on the African Union and Arab League to support Libya during this hardship to push the international community to shoulder its responsibility toward Libya.
Europe pays Italy three million euros monthly to fight illegal migration but does not help Libya at all, who is the worst affected, he said.
