A huge number of Libyans are flocking to Ras Ajdir crossing since Wednesday evening to flee severe clashes that have erupted earlier between Libya Dawn forces and General Khalifa Haftar forces.

The clashes are taking place about 30 km away from the Libyan-Tunisian borders.

The Tunisian forces are on alert at the borders ahead of any expected emergency incidents.

Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.
