The so-called "Mujahideen Shura Council in Derna" on Friday said its fighters managed to liberate "Bab Tobruk" district from Daesh after two days of clashes.

In a statement, the group said that the district was a stronghold of Daesh leaders.

A number of Daesh leaders were killed, while others escaped, the statement said.
