Damietta criminal court sentenced Wednesday five people to life in prison over charges of kidnapping a prosecutor for ransom at gunpoint.
The crime dated back to May, when the kidnappers intercepted the prosecutor's car and took him away after handcuffing him at gunpoint.
Then, they called his family asking for a one-million-pound ransom to set him free.
Later, they were arrested and confessed their wrongdoing.
