Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Sabry Magdy Sabry held Saturday a lunch banquet in honor of Mohamed Edris, the new assistant foreign minister for African affairs, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Saturday.

Edris has been serving as Egypt's ambassador to Ethiopia for four years.

The banquet is also held in honor of other ambassadors who will work at Egyptian embassies in Africa, the statement said.

During the banquet, the attendees tackled a host of African issues and means of promoting Egypt's role in Africa.
