Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr held a meeting on Thursday with a number of senior officials in the city to discuss ongoing preparations for the inauguration of the New Suez Canal.
During the meeting, the governor discussed the role of each authority and directorate in the preparations for the inauguration ceremony.
He asserted the necessity of inviting the residents of the governorate and tourists to take part in the event.
Egypt will open a new waterway to allow two-way traffic on its Suez Canal on August 6. World leaders have been invited to attend the ceremony.
