Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab

Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab is to attend later Thursday the closing session of the Libyan chieftains meetings currently in session in Cairo.

Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghafar, Local Development Minister Adel Labib and Matrouh Governor Alaa Abu Zaied will also be present in the meetings.

This comes at a time 400 Libyan tribal leaders are meeting in Cairo for the third day in a row to discuss ways of settling the political crisis back home.

In statements to MENA, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the meetings Adel Al Faidi said that the two previous sessions of the talks focused on the issues of preserving the unity of the Libyan territories to support the legitimate authorities represented in the elected Parliament and the interim government.

Also, the Libyan chieftains called for lifting the embargo on arming the Libyan army to fight the terrorist armed groups in the North African country.
