Security chief of El-Mahalla El-Kubra Maj. General Hosam Khalifa dismissed reports claiming protests were held by members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood on Friday in the industrial city.
The senior police official urged media to verify stories.
"No rallies were seen in the city of El Mahallah on Friday," he said.
