Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has hailed as profound relations between Egypt and the Arab Gulf, particularly Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Egypt-Gulf ties are profound at the official and popular levels, Mahlab said in two interviews with Dubai and CNN channels on the sidelines of a government summit, currently held here.
Relations are bigger than any attempts to drive a wedge between Cairo and any of the Gulf states, the PM said.
Mahlab also focused on preparations for an economic summit that will be held in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh on March 13.
Mahlab reviewed the vision of the Egyptian government and its efforts to fight terrorism, whether through the use of force or through achieving development.
He pointed to the role played by the Egyptian government to secure logistics services and a safe atmosphere to conduct parliamentary elections.
Mahlab also talked about Cairo's relations with Moscow and the outcome of Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent visit to Egypt.
